It's Over!

Hi Reader ,

Wowsers — it’s been a hot minute since I popped into your inbox. I hope you had a beautiful holiday season with the people who matter most to you, and that you found a little time to do something that fills your cup… like doodling.

I took a short break (literally and figuratively — I managed to break my wrist 😅), but the break's over and I’m back now with a free gift to help you step into the new year in a creative, intentional way.

I’ve created a doodle-your-year page that helps you reflect on what you’re bringing into 2026, what you want to focus on, and what you might want to be mindful of along the way. I just used this exact activity with a group of high school students last week — and I’ve also used it with teachers and adult groups. It works beautifully whether you want to go deep or keep it light and playful.

Click the image below to download the printable page and the prompts that go with it.

If you use it, I’d love to hear how it goes — just hit reply and tell me one word or one doodle that came up for you.

I’m really excited about what 2026 holds for SoDoodleDe. Keep an eye out for details about my upcoming “Doodle Your 2026 Word” class — it’s always a favorite. There’s something powerful about turning a word into a simple image and keeping it where your eyes (and your brain) can see it every day. When we pair words with visuals, they stick — and that’s one of the reasons I love doodling so much.

Until next time!

Doodle On!

PS. Do you know a teacher who would love to receive doodle inspiration in their mailbox every week? Do us both a favor and forward this to them so we can connect!

My passion is working with teachers (and teachers at heart) to help them enjoy creative self-care, often through doodling. Using a super-simple Doodle Alphabet, I guide my tribe to express thoughts, ideas, and emotions . . . one line at a time. Doodling is a fantastic meditative process that strengthens the mind, nurtures the heart, and boosts creativity. Everyone is creative (we were created to create). Sometimes we just need to reconnect to our creativity for the personal benefit . . . not to become producing artists.

Hi Reader , Happy Weekend! Is it just me, or are the weeks flying by? I’ve been doodling up a storm and have so much to share. My plan was to go live all week and doodle with anyone who wanted to slow down with me—and here we are already at the weekend. But this weekend feels like one made for love and coziness. And honestly, there’s not much I love more than a quiet weekend, my sweet dogs, a roaring fire, and a few meandering lines on paper. Oh, and a bottomless cup of coffee. Yes, please. I...

Hi Reader , Happy Weekend! I find myself wondering how many of you are feeling temperatures similar to my Michigan winter right now. If so—stay warm! The words people doodled in last week’s Doodle Your Word class were so inspiring. Do you ever find it hard to pick just one word? I definitely did. I caught myself second-guessing my choice more than once. The good news is that a Word of the Year isn’t a rule—it’s a guide. A way to gently steer our thoughts. My word this year is Expect. I love...

Hi Reader , Happy Tuesday! It was so heartwarming to hear from several of you about your journey doodles from last week! (If you’re not sure what I’m referring to, check it out here.) I love hearing about your adventures—and yes, even the misadventures. That’s all part of the journey, right? What we know for sure is this: even detours can still lead us to where we’re meant to go. Doodle Your Word Class As promised, here are the details about my upcoming “Doodle Your Word 2026” class. There’s...
